Some quick sips of gossip this week .....
Kate Gosselin is "standing by her man"...more or less. Amid rising rumors, speculations, eyewitness accounts and pictures, Jon and Kate of the Reality TV series, "
Jon and Kate Plus Eight," are "dealing with it" privately, says Kate. On the "Today" show Thursday morning, Kate (minus Jon who stayed home with the kids), told Meredith Viera, " I'm very hesitant to believe any of it. It goes with the territory." Jon has consistently denied allegations he cheated on his wife, and Kate has said the latest tabloid reports will not be addressed on their reality tv show.
Hayden Panettiere, 19, and
Bristol Palin joined forces to discuss teen pregnancy at the Candie's Foundation town hall meeting on teenage pregnancy prevention for National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day in NYC Wednesday. Bristol Palin -- she and ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston welcomed son, Tripp, in December -- could serve as a fellow teen ambassador for the Candie's Foundation.
Kirstie Alley, who admitted on Oprah that she has put on 83 lbs. since her Jenny Craig days, has an ivitation from Valerie Bertinelli to work out with her. Bertinelli, Kirstie's replacement as Jenny Craig's spokesperson, says "I am one jalapeño pepper away from gaining 40 pounds. It's not simple! It's something you work on every day."
And a sad note this week:
Ryan O'Neal speaks in an interview with People Magazine about the cancer that his life long love,
Farrah Fawcett, is battling. It is an emotional interview, and one that made me cry, I'll admit. Basically O'Neal says Farrah spends her days in bed, mostly sleeping, hooked up to IV's for nourishment, but he says, " The treatment has pretty much ended." Fawcett, 62, herself tells of her journey through illness in
Farrah's Story a two-hour NBC documentary
that airs Friday, May 15. According to O'Neal, the documentary came about the day Farrah decided to take her hand held camera with her to the doctor; this turned out to be the day she would learn her cancer had returned.
And another loss for Hollywood......Comedienne
Dom Deluise passed away late Monday night in a Los Angeles hospital. DeLuise was 75.
David Cook's brother sadly succumbed to brain cancer this past weekend. The American Idol Winner announced the sad news Sunday during the Race for Hope, which benefited the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.
Cook's brother had been battling the disease for more than a decade. The sudden passing of the legendary Las Vegas Entertainer, 52 year old
Danny Gans, has left Las Vegas in shock and sadness. Gans was found dead in his home in his home in Henderson, Nev., about 3 a.m. last Friday, apparently passing away in his sleep.
Miss California's crown is A'slipping...but will the release of more picturs of Carrie Prejean cause the crown to completely fall off and into the waiting hands of second runner up..."Miss Malibu?" A second photo of Prejean has been shown on TheDirty.com, again with her topless and in a pair of panties. Apparently Prejean just finished swearing to the Miss California Pageant Commitee that here was
only one photo. OOPS. According to the website, TMZ, there are at least 4 pictures ..... But if the cown falls ...
Prejean's runner-up Miss Malibu told "Access Hollywood's" Billy Bush on Wednesday that she is ready to step in should Prejean lose her crown because of a morality clause in the pageant contract contestants sign that promises they have no nude or semi-nude photos in their past. That is a relief. Whew.
Cindy Crawford's hubby, Rande Gerber, has been hit with a sexual harrassment lawsuit which claims Gerber and other managers from the restaurant owned by Gerber's company, attempted tp fondle and harass two waitresses that used to work there. The two women claim they were fired for refusing to give in to the advances.
It is an
all-male American Idol Finish..... last night the last remaining female contender,
Allison Iraheta, the 17-year old with a voice that is truly amazing, was sent home. I loved her voice, but the voters out there never did seem to warm to Allison. And did you see Paula perform?? I saw lights, fog, male dancers, and shades of Paula, but I did not see her actually singing....her mouth was pretty much conveinently kept obscure through most of her performance, can we say "lip synch" here? I give Abdul kudos though. I could never get up and perform in front of Simon!
Raise your and if you were shocked by this week's
Dancing With The Stars elimination? The "bionic bootie" has left the dance floor! Poor Lil' Kim and Derek..... such better dancers than the adorable Ty, to be sure...but apparently Ty has the fan advantage. I love Ty, so I'm happy to see him battle it out another week, but talk about a surprising elimination?!
