Thursday Gossip Round Up

A quick recap of what's been happening this week in Hollywood....

I must start today's post with a special mention on the passing of Golden Girl Bea Arthur. I have loved and watched The Golden Girls for years....with my mom and later with my own kids. I especially loved Dorothy--she was so strong, witty and dependable. But she also had a soft vulnerable side that warmed many hearts. I was so sad to hear of her passing, and her many many fans will truly miss her.

So...what has been happening in Hollywood this past week? A lot! On the baby/pregnancy scene we have all heard the news that Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby, Matthew Broderick are expecting twin girls with the generous help of a surrogate. Can you imagine the dress up fun those little girls will have?

And Heidi Klum has let it be known that she is hoping for a little girl this time around. While Klum says the family will be happy with a little boy or girl, a little sister would make her daughter, Leni, very happy!

Farrah Fawcett, who is battling cancer, had a visit with her son Redmond this past weekend. Redmond has been in jail since his April 5 th arrest on suspicion of taking heroin into a LA-area jail facility. But this past Saturday, he was allowed to go visit his ailing mom in Malibu. Redmond was taken in a patrol car along with two deputies to see Farrah for about three hours.

Remember Kelly McGillis? The actress is probably best known for her role as Tom Cruise's girlfriend in 1986's Top Gun. McGillis may now be remembered for someting else as well-- she has recently revealed to the Internet show Girl Rock! that she is single but no longer wants a man. Nope. The 51 year old actress is now lesbian, and is looking for a woman to date. The twice-divorced mother of two daughters – her movies also include 1985's Witness, with Harrison Ford, and 1988's The Accused, with Jodie -- says she needs to "be true to herself." Something which "has been a challenge for me," says McGillis.

Sam Lutfi is not happy about the 3 year restraining order a judge granted against Lutfi in court Tuesday. Britney Spear's father had asked for an order to keep Lutfi away from Britney, and apparently the judge agreed with Spear's father, citing Lutfi is a threat to Spears. But Sam is not done yet---he has announced his plans to appeal the restraining order.
John Mayer has moved on....he has been seen dating another woman since his break-up with Jennifer Aniston...sigh. Jaime Spears has been by her baby girl's daddy side since Sunday, when Casey Aldridge flipped his truck and was hospitalized with head injuries. Latest reports say Aldridge is out of ICU and walking around. People Magazine has issued their 2009 Most 100 Beautiful People, and the lovely Christina Applegate is on the list. The actress has dealt with breast cancer, a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery...and has a wonderful attitude that she shares with everyone. And things look to be getting a bit "sticky" for Jon of the Reality Televison Show, "Jon and Kate Plus 8" Seems the father of 8 has been seen about town..again.., minus Kate and his wedding ring, with another woman. Jon has been caught on camera before not exactly on his best behavior....he has defended himself before and again with this most recent "activity", but um, I can only imagine how "uncomfortable" things must be at home with Kate right now.
Dancing With The Stars is now without Julianne Hough and her partner/real life boyfriend, Chuck Wicks. The couple was voted off this week even though Melissa Rycroft did not dance this week due to her hurt ribs. And Julianne says she is not returning to DWTS next season as she will be focusing on her country singing career--which is doing very well. American Idol is getting good... this is a truly talented group! Last night Matt was sent home, but not before everyone was stunned to see Adam Lambert. in the final two! Crunch time for the remaining hopefuls.

Casey Aldridge Improving

Casey Aldridge, the father of Jaime Lynn Spears' baby daughter, 10 month old Maddie, is out of ICU and walking for the first time since his accident this past weekend. Jaime Spears has been by Casey's side since Sunday.

Aldridge was hospitalized on Sunday after a his pickup truck flipped on a side of the road in Louisiana early Sunday morning. Aldridge was thrown from the truck, as well as two other passengers in his truck. The accident occurred after a bachelor party for Aldridge's cousin at nearby Lake Bruin on Saturday, according to a source.

Casey (19) was later charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanour offence.

Jon and Kate Plus 8 Plus Another Mate??

Woa Jon-- looks like the water is getting hotter and Kate is gonna be getting madder! The errant father of 8, and star of the family's own reality television show, "Jon and Kate Plus 8," has apparently been caught red-handed (without the wedding ring handed as well) with another woman.

Radar Online is reporting that Jon went to a motel on April 18th, America’s Best Value Inn, located near his 26-acre estate in Pennsylvania, without Kate or his wedding band. Reportedly, Jon met a woman there, and some passionate kissing is said to have taken place in a stairwell.

Guess old Jon thought the staircase would be a safe hideout for some good old fashioned smooching. Apparently he was wrong.

Seems a security guard came upon the two, and by his accounts per Radar, Jon and the woman eventually took off in Jon’s car, with the woman driving.

As per the norm lately, Jon has denied any wrong doing. Hmm.

But guess what Jon? The new issue of Us Weekly has photos of him and a woman, clearly not his wife Kate--who was promoting her latest book, Eight Little Faces, in Bellevue, WA, -- leaving a bar late that same night.

According to Us Weekly, Jon was heard saying, "Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!" before climbing into his Nissan Nismo. According to the reports once Gosselin became aware of the paparazzi, he admonished the brunette to "get in the car." The story claims that the couple sped off without even turning on the lights.

Jon Gosselin has issued a statement in his defense,

"Like most people, I have male and female friends and I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV," he says in a statement. "However, being out with them late at night showed poor judgment on my part. What makes me sick is that my careless behavior has put my family in this uncomfortable position. My family is the most important thing in my life and it kills me that these allegations have hurt them."

Christina Applegate is Beautiful!

People Magazine has named Christina Applegate as one of the MOst 100 Beautiful People in their annual listing. Applegate has overcome a very public battle with breast cancer, which included a double mastectomy and reconstructive breast surgery.

Christina credits her boyfriend, Dutch bass player Martyn Lenoble, for being her "rock" and helping her through her ordeal. "He's been a friend for about 13 years," Applegate says. "Our relationship gets stronger and stronger. I'm really lucky." And, more importantly, he makes the actress feel "beautiful" about her new body.

Congratulations Christina...definitely a beautiful person inside and out!

Twin Girls On The Way For Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker and hubby Matthew Broderick are expecting babies-- twin girls! Broderick and Parker announced they are "happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed."

Exciting news for the star of Sex and The City....two little girls to follow in their mom's very stylish ways! The Hollywood couple, who have one of the longest celebrity marriages going, are parents to six year old, James Wilkie, 6.

Rihanna Back With Chris Brown

Chicago's Sun Times is reporting that Chris Brown and Rihanna have reconiciled and may be living together.

According to the source that spoke with the paper, Rihanna is not afraid of the potential public backlash for reconciling with Brown, saying, " Rihanna still wants him and has told all of us to 'get over yourselves. ... I'm with him, so deal with it.'"

No comment here..... what can be said anyway? She wants him and apparently is willing to take her chances.....

The Rankings on Dancing With The Stars

Monday night's DWTS clearly belonged to Lil' Kim and Derek with their stunning Paso Dobles. And Melissa could not perform at all due to bruised ribs. So how did the dancing couples end up in the ranks when all the dancing was done?

Melissa should be back Tuesday night.... on her facebook page, Rycroft thanked her fans and explained...."I was doing alright but went to the doc before dress rehearsal for some last minute treatment and ended up having a bad reaction that's affecting my breathing," she wrote. "Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be good tomorrow. But thank you for all the love, support and votes! We need it!"

And of course we will have the next elimination. So hoping it is not Ty....

Julianne Hough Will Put Away Her Dancing Shoes

Julianne Hough wants to devote more time to her country singing career, and so has made the decision (again) to leave Dancing With The Stars after the end of this season.

Julianne gets to leave on a special note though--dancing her last season with her real life boyfriend, Chuck Wicks as her dancing partner.

Hough's debut album first came out last May, and reached #1 on the Billboard Top Country albums chart. Two weeks ago, Julianne accepted the ACM award for top new artist.

So a busy but happy Julianne will put away her dancing shoes and leave the dance floor --this time on the arm of her boyfriend (who has said that he will not do a TV proposal on DWTS ).

Dancing With The Stars Spoiler....One Contestant Not Dancing Tonight

Guess which DWTS contestant you will not be seeing on Monday night's show?

Melissa Rycroft will not be competing Monday night due to an injury, and as host Tome Bergeron put it..." "She suffered an injury this week, complications following, which made her unable to dance tonight."

No exact details yet...but stay tuned...they will be coming.

Greys Anatomy Wedding Plans Goes Online

So we know that Izzie is becoming "wedding planner extraordinaire" even from her hospital bed and as she deals with chemotherapy, but now we can actually follow all the planning details online!

A new website about the has been set up that chronicles the love story between Meredith and Derek, and includes categories such as “The Couple,” “The Proposal,” and “The Dresses” — complete with pictures and commentary from Izzie. The wedding website is part of TheKnot.com.

"This is going to be the most magical, romantic, breathtaking wedding you’ve ever seen. I promise.” states Izzie on the web site's welcome page.

The site has been up since last week’s episode aired Thursday and already has more than 42,000 unique views. There’s even a gift registry. Fans of Mer and Der are encouraged to donate money to The American Academy of Neurology Foundation, the American Skin Association, and the Alzheimer’s Association — all charities that have a connection to Grey’s storylines.

Swine Flu Affects Hollywood, Hugh Jackman Film

The premiere of Hugh Jackman's new movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine set for Wednesday in Mexico City, has been postponed because of the Swine Flu virus that has killed over 100 people, People has exclusively reported Monday.

A representative for Twentieth Century Fox released the statement,

"We were not only concerned about Hugh's welfare – and we would never send anyone into harm's way – but we also have an enormous office filled with people we care about," says a rep for the studio. "There was no point in proceeding under the current conditions."

Mexico City has closed schools, shut down movie theaters, and has asked people to stay home.

Weekend Visit For Farrah Fawcett From Her Jailed Son

Redmond O Neal was allowed to leave jail for a brief time on Saturday to visit his ill mom, Farrah Fawcett.

O'Neal was accompanied by two deputies in a patrol car to the Malibu home of Redmond's father and Farrah's longtime boyfriend, Ryan O'Neal. Redmond spent about three hours with Fawcett, who is battling cancer.

Redmond has been in a Los Angeles jail, following his April 5 arrest on suspicion of taking heroin into a LA-area jail facility.

Farrah Fawcett's son will be sentenced April 30. At that point, Redmond could be sent to a rehab program.

Golden Girl Bea Arthur Was "Shy" Says Co-Stars

Rue McClanahan and Betty White reminisced about their friend and one time co-star, Bea Arthur, who sadly passed away Saturday.

The remaining two "Golden Girls" spoke by phone on the Today Show, and talked about how Arthur was shy, emotional, personal but at the same time could be in full control when acting.

White recalled a special memory that she carries of Arthur every day--- which was at a reading of a Golden Girl script one day, and Bea Arthur, "with a twinkle in her eye" noted to the other "Golden Girls" how lucky they all were.

McClanahan spoke of how shy Bea Arthur was when it came to giving interviews early on in the days of the Golden Girls, but did over come that shyness.

Intensely personal, "Dorothy" did not share with her co-stars how ill she was the last time they saw each other. Though White and McClanahan both said they knew Arthur was not well, neither knew how sick their friend really was.

Ms. Arthur was born Bernice Frankel on May 13, 1922, in New York. Her brief marriage to playwright Robert Alan Aurthur gave the actress her last name, though she simplified the spelling. She changed her first name to Beatrice because, according to the Los Angeles Times, she never liked Bernice.

In 1950, Bea Arthur married director Gene Saks. They divorced in the late 1970s.

Arthur is survived by her two sons, Matthew and Daniel, and two granddaughters.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson together once again? The two just can't seem to stay apart. Late night rendevous' have been reported by several online sources, with one sighting between Lohan and Ronson happening Friday morning when the DJ was spotted leaving Lohan's home at 6am after spending the entire night there.

And Ronson has changed her Facebook relationship status from "single" to "it's complicated."

And so goes the "Days Of Lindsay and Samantha."

Jamie Spears At Boyfriend's Hospital Bedside

The father of Jamie Lynn Spear's 10-month-old daughter Maddie, was injured in a car accident early Sunday morning.

People is reporting that JamieSpears, 18, and Aldridge's sister are at the University of Mississippi Medical Center with Aldridge.

According to a source, "It's not as serious as we thought at first,"

Aldridge, 19, was driving his truck with several passengers inside when it went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over, says a source.

The Golden Girls Lose Dorothy

Dorothy Zbornak , otherwise known as Beatrice Arthur, has passed away at 86. According to Dan Watt, her spokesman and former assistant, the Golden Girls star died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, succumbing to cancer.

The Golden Girls costar Estelle Getty died last year, and now the remaining "girls" are Betty White and Rue McClanahan.

The Golden Girls was enormously successful and earned many awards over the years: a total of eleven Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes. Bea Arthur won the Emmy in 1988 for Best Actress for her portrayal og Dorothy on the show.

Golden Girls" ran from 1985-1992, and was folowed by fans from all ages--young to old.

In 1992, Arthur announced she was leaving "Golden Girls." The three other stars returned in "The Golden Palace," but it lasted only one season.

Golden Girl Bea Arthur Has Died

This is such sad news. Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy on The Golden Girls, has passed away. According to reports coming in, Arthur passed away at her home on Saturday. a family spokesman said she was battling cancer, but did not elaborate on the cause of death.

The Golden Girls was a monumental hit and most certainly what Bea Arthur will be remembered for, but She was also famous for the sitcom Maude, first creating the character in the comedy series All In The Family.

John Mayer Over Jennifer?

We guess this woman, Scheana Marie. is hoping so!

Marie is said to be the latest "friend" of Mayer. The two met at the Beverly Hills cigar club, where Marie, 23, currently works as a bartender and cocktail waitress.

Though there have been no "public" sightings of the couple, we can all have a chance to see Marie on TV when the aspiring actress shows up on the upcoming Jonas Brothers TV show. She will be playing Maria, the pizza delivery girl in a dream scenario on the Disney show, debuting on the Disney Channel May 2nd. The episode with Marie airs May 16th.



The former model, who has appeared in ads for Pioneer, Doritos, Nissan and Toyota, graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Azusa Pacific University.

Not All In The Family For Dane Cook

Comedienne Dane Cook is not laughing when it comes to talking about his half-brother who was arrested in December after being accused of embezzling millions of dollars from Cook.

Darryl McCauley, Cook's half brother -- and former manager -- plead not guilty to eight counts of larceny charges, prosecutors say that the 43-year-old stole Cook's money while being paid $12,500 per month as his business manager and transferred it into his own bank account.

On Larry King Thursday, Cook said he felt betrayed--

"I worked with my only half brother for several years," Cook said. "Woke up one day and a lot of stuff was missing. There is a good chunk of money that is certainly not accounted for. That's all I can say about it at this point."

Bachelor's Melissa Rycroft Paties Hollywood Style

Melissa Rycroft kept practicing her dance moves.... even though she and her fiance, Tye Strickland, were at the US Weekly Hot Hollywood Party Wednesday night.
The Dancing With The Stars sweetheart walked the Red Carpet with Tye, hand in hand, and later Rycroft was spotted practicing some dance moves with her DWTS partner, Tony Dovolani in their booth.

Melissa partied in good company with stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Fergie, Paris Hilton, Doug Reinhardt, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian. Melissa was not the only "Bachelor" alumni at the party-- DeAnna DePappas, who rejected Jason Mesnick when she was the Bachelorette, was also at the party.

Hoping For Pink Says Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum is hoping for a baby girl. The mom of three who is expecting baby number 4 says that though the family will be happy with either, told USmagazine-

"But it would be a lie if I said we all weren't hoping for a little girl -- especially Leni, because she would love to have a little sister."

The new baby will be joining big brothers, Henry, 3, and Johan, 2,and big sister Leni, 5.

Jay Leno Released From Hospital

Jay Keno has been released from a local LA hospital tonight after being kept 'under observation' for possible food poisoning. Leno, who was rehearing for the show on Thursday, felt ill and was driven to a local hospital.

The Tonight Show will be a repeat tonight as well as Friday night, as Leno recuperates.

Usmagazine.com is reporting that an unnamed network representative has told them that Leno "is doing just fine."

"He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He's expected back to work on Monday," the representative said.

How Audrina Partridge Got Her Wings

The Hills Reality TV Star, Audrina Partridge has her wings courtesy of PETA. Partridge is featured on a billboard for PETA, wearing a white bikini and a pair of angel wings, while holding her rescued dog, Speedy Gonzalez. The billboard, on L.A.'s Beverly Boulevard, calls for people to adopt pets with the line, "Be an Angel for Animals-Always Adopt, Never Buy."

Hayden Panetierre's home was broken into sometime between April 10-15th while the actress was out of town. Police are only saying that personal property belonging to Panetierre was stolen...the Grand Theft incident was reported Monday to the police....... "emme-tude" is the nickname Jennifer Lopez has given to her daughter, Emme, saying her daughter's attitude comes from Lopez. And what about Max, Emme's twin brother? Lopez says she and husband Marc Anthony think he also favors his mother in some ways. "Me and Marc are always claiming he's got my head and he's got my mouth," she says.....
Jay Leno has had to cancel tonight's taping of The Tonight Show due to illness. Reports say that Leno felt unwell and decided to go get checked out at the hospital..... rumors of food poisoning are circulating the blogosphere....tonight's show will be a repeat.......Bo, the First Dog, is a bit of a handful, so it seems. First Lady Michelle Obama told a group of about 100 children of White House staffers., "He's kind of crazy, but he's still a puppy,.....He loves to chew on people's feet."... Actress Jill Scott welcomed a baby boy, Jett Hamilton Roberts — weighing in at 7 lbs., 8 oz. — April 20th at 4:20 p.m. The "Why Did I Get Married?" star admits the pregnancy was a surprise for her and fiancee drummer Lil Jon Roberts, as doctors had told the new mom that she would never conceive.... and Jessica Simpson has been hitting the gym recetly...working on getting lean and fit.... The Dukes of Hazzard star and singer Tweeted on Twitter recently she hasn't been thrilled about getting down with squats. Simpson tweeted on her Twitter page that her trainer Mike Alexander (who sculpted her silhouette for 2005's The Dukes of Hazzard) "yells at me 'get lower like you're in the club.' " Simpson's reply? "I don't squat in a club unless I'm peeing!"

Kissed or Not...Susan Boyle Changes Story

Kiss and tell...or not. Susan Boyle, the overnight singing sensation from Britain now says that her comment about never been kissed was just a joke. Do people care? Yes...a lot, apparently. Boyle has captured the attention and awe of just about everyone and anyone since her performance on "Britain's Got Talent."

Boyle first told the judges and audience that she lived with her cat Pebbles, and had never been kissed.

Now the Britain singing sensation wants to clear that up-- She told a TV interviewer from U.K. breakfast show GMTV,

"That was made as a joke! Never been kissed? I've never stopped."

Regis To Helm Prime Time Millionaire Show

Regis Philbin is heading back to prime time, and to his duties as host of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

The revived Millionaire will return in August in honor of the game show's 10th anniversary. 10 years since we first hear those now infamous words from Philbin, "Is that your final answer??"

The prime time Millionaire will air Sunday through Thursday, with the finale airing Aug. 23, according to ABC.

Lindsay Lohan Dishes With Ellen About Break Up

Lindsay Lohan visited the set of Ellen yesterday, and opened up a bit about her break up with Samatha Ronson.

Lohan told Ellen she wasn't expecting the split, even after the two had a serious fight just prior to the break-up.

"I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn't seen her in, like, a week. She, like, disappeared."

Lohan denied cheating on Ronson, saying she would never do that, as she grew up watching her father cheat on her mother.

As for how she is handling her split with her girlfriend, Lindsay had this to say--

"I feel like I want to get my career back in shape," said the actress, who has some producing projects in the works and is doing a movie in October. "When people are together so much it gets really difficult, and you forget who you are because you're more concerned about being with the other person. I think it's been really good for me. I thought it would be so much harder, and it hasn't been. My sisters been here with me."

Lohan also said she still loved Samantha, does not want to be with anyone right now, and maybe somewhere down the line it will work again for her and Samantha when they are both "fully in the right place.."

DWTS What Happened To The Dance Off?

Has the "dance-off" danced away from Dancing With the Stars? Last night's show once again did not feature a dance off between the last two couples standing...and no mention why.

But we think it's a good thing. Didn't quite get it, and did not like it. Just get to the bottom two, and let one couple leave without the stress of one more dance.

Big Brother's Julie Chen Baby News

The Early Show news anchor and more importantly the host of Big Brother, Julie Chen is pregnant.

No worries--Chen will not be taking a maternity leave from Big Brother. She will however, be taking a baby break from The Early Show.

Julie Chen and Hubby, CBS chief Les Moonves, 60, will welcome their first baby together in October. Moonves has three children from a previous marriage

We Have a Name For Baby Paisley

Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley have named their new baby boy, born April 17th.

Jasper Warren Paisley is the second child for the couple, and joins big brother 2-year-old William Huckleberry Paisley, who was named for Mark Twain's character Huck Finn.

Jasper Warren has been named after Brad's grandfather, who who gave Paisley his first guitar and encouraged him to pursue a music career.

A representative for Kimberly Williams-Paisley spoke exclusively with People Magazine to reveal the ne baby's name.

Not Loving Those Wrinkles Says Brooke Shields

A star after our own hearts..... Brooke says she does not love her wrinkles (does anyone really??), and will never have the face of Jessica Alba..no matter "how much Le Mer I put on my skin."

Shields - who turns 44 next month - says her age is making it hard for her to land roles in Hollywood. Speaking to May's "More," the actress eplains

"I'd read a script and say, 'Oh, that's a great character, that's something I'd love to do.' And they'd say, 'Um, no, we're thinking of you for the mother.' And then I'd say, 'Oh, of course! Of course! I knew that.'"

When it comes to her body, Shields says, "I'm proud of my longevity more than anything else. There's a lot to be said for endurance. I'm trying to find the beauty in the whole picture rather than the crows feet."

She adds, "Sure, I wish I had the face I had a decade ago, but I don't. People say, 'I love my wrinkles.' I don't love my wrinkles come on!"

No Break Up For Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel

Jessica and Justin are still going strong...... despite rumors to the contrary. The "J's" recently bought an apartment in NYC together, and according to a source, "Things are very good with them," "They do things separately sometimes."

The Desperate Housewives Say Goodbye To Edie

So Edie did die. And last night's episode of Desperate Housewives was voiced over by Edie instead of Mary Alice, as Edie describes her final minutes. Fittingly, Edie tells us she died as ahe lived..."The Absolute Center of Attention."

As the neighbors of Wisteria Lane rush out and gather around Edie, who of course is laying in the street after being electrocuted, she hears Susan whisper to her that she will be fine. And then Edie breathes her last breath.

Susan, Bree, Gabby, Lynette and Mrs. McCluskey take Edie's Urn with her ashes and make the 4 hour drive to tell Edie's son what has happened to his mom. Along the way, the housewives each share a memory of Edie.

For Susan, it is the first meeting she had with Edie. The two Wisteria Lane neighbors became instant friends and running buddies, until Susan learns that Edie is sleeping with a neighbor's husband. Then Edie is he one to tell Susan that her husband is having an affair--which of course Susan refuses to believe. But we all know that indeed, hubby number one, Carl, did cheat and leave Susan.

For Lynette, she remembers Edie being the one to get Lynette to stop feeling sorry for herself and "kick Cancer's butt!" Lynette and Edie shared tequila shooters, which Edie claimed are what cured Lynette's cancer.

Gabby remembers the night she and Edie went to a bar and a battle of who was the hottest of the two broke out, with Gabby winning the competition by getting the most attention and drinks sent to her. A defeated Edie leaves, and when Gabby caches up to her later, Edie laments her passing youth. As Gabby tries to cheer Edie up by talking about how they will be in 50 years, Edie tells Gabby she believes she will not live to see 50-- she has always known that since she was a child. Eerie.

Bree admits it was Edie that convinced her to finally visit Orson when he was in jail. Bree had refused to visit her husband before, saying the jail was dirty and humiliating. When Bree found out that Edie had been visiting Orson every week, she instantly thought that Edie was having an affair with him. Edie tells Bree that her breasts may be impressive, but they cannot bend iron. Edie also tells Bree to suck it up and visit her husband, after all he went to jail for her.

Mrs. McCluskey's memory is shared when they all arrive at Edie's son's college room. Travis is not too upset by the news, as he states that Edie was not much of a mom to him anyway. Mrs. McCluskey tells Travis that Edie shared with her that she gave Travis up to his father to raise because he would be better away from her--she loved him so much.

Travis is moved, but wants the Housewives to take the Urn with them anyway. The wives decide they will spread Edie's ashes the next morning. Mrs. McCluskey keeps the Urn with her for the night. While she has a drink, a wind blows open the front door, and Mrs. McCluskey looks out at the neighborhood.

And that is where the desperate housewives decide to spread Edie's ashes---some on each of their front lawns. Each housewife says one word to describe Edie as they sprinkle the ashes--Gaby chooses "sexy," Lynette says " strong," Bree chooses " perceptive," Karen says "beautiful," and Susan, who needs 4 words, says "one of a kind."

Professor Stephen Hawking Reportedly Rushed To Hospital

One of the most famous scientists the world has seen, Stephen Hawking, is reportedly very sick and has been taken to a hospital in Cambridge.

A Cambridge University spokesman said the 67-year-old physicist, who is best known for his book A Brief History of Time, was taken to Addenbrooke Hospital by ambulance.

Professor Hawking suffers from motor neurone disease and is wheelchair bound. He speaks with the help of a voice synthesiser.

He developed symptoms of the disease while studying in the 1960s and is one of the world's longest surviving sufferers.

Hawking lives in Cambridge, and has three children and one grandchild.

Kristen Dalton Takes The Crown

Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, is the new Miss USA. The coveted crown went to Dalton on Sunday night's Miss USA Pageant, with first runner up going to Miss California, Carrie Prejean.
Miss Arizona USA, Alicia-Monique Blanco was the Second Runner Up. Miss Wyoming USA, Cynthia Pate was named Miss Congeniality.

Grey's Anatomy Baby News

Ellen Pompeo, star of ABC's Grey's Anatomy, is pregnant. Pompeo and hubby, Chris Ivery, have announced they are expecting their first baby, but no due date has been given yet.

Pompeo has company in the maternity ward-- co star Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half sister on Grey's Anaom, is also pregnant. Leigh's baby, a little girl who reportedly will be named Aniston Kay, isdue May 15th.

The book "The Open Veins of Latin America", given as a gift by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to President Obama on Saturday, skyrocketed from 734th place to second place in just 24 hours on the online bookseller Amazon.com.

Written by author Eduardo Galeano, the book is about the region's colonial past and exploitation by the world's big powers.

Chavez inscribed the copy of the book he gave to Obama with the message "For Obama, with affection."

And what did President Obama think of the gift from Chavez?

"I think it was, it was a nice gesture to give me a book," said Obama. "I'm a reader."

New Baby For New Jersey Housewive's Star

Jacqueline Laurita from the Real Housewives of New Jersey is expecting a baby this summer. The news of the impending stork arrival was confirmed by People Magazine. Hints by Bravo about a new baby for one (or more??) of the Housewives have been dropped by the network lately, and with Bravo reps also hinted at the pregnancy, saying that one or more of the Housewives would be welcoming a baby sometime soon.

The New Jersey Housewive's star has a 6-year-old son, CJ, with her husband Chris, and a 17-year-old daughter, Ashley, from a previous marriage.

Horseback Ride Ends In An Ouch For Madonna

Madonna's horse back ride in The Hampton sovr the weekend ended with a bump when the singer fell off, in what she says is due to paparazzi.

"The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer, who was visiting friends," Liz Rosenberg, a rep for Madonna, said in a statement Saturday evening.

Madonna was checked out at a local hospital and released. Sounds like the singer is bruised and sore, but otherwise all right, but will be monitored by doctors.

Sounds much better than the three broken ribs and collarbone Madonna suffered in a previous fall from a horse back in 2005.
