Are they or aren't they? They are not, according to New Moon star, Robert Pattinson. The Twilight saga actor is of course referring to the rumored affair between him and co-star, Kristen Stewart.
"It doesn't make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]," the actor, 23, tells Vanity Fair. "I've literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it's like 'Oh, they were on secret dates!' It's like "Where? I can't get out of my hotel room!' "
Just recently it was reported that Kristen and Robert had checked into a Los Angeles area hotel together after completing filming on the second film in the Twilight series.
Despite Pattinson's denial of having a romance with Stewart, he does admit that his co-star has affected him:
"She's influenced how I've done all the Twilight stuff," he says. "It's quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything."
And the director of the first Twilight movie says there's no denying the chemistry between the two, saying they were bound by a "nervous attraction."
"What Rob and Kristen had is a multitude of feelings for each other. Complex feelings for each other," Catherine Hardwicke says. "It was what we needed. Complex, intense fascination."
The Twilight sequel New Moon hits theaters Nov. 20.
