"Juno", the tugg at your heart movie about teen pregnancy, is undeniably a fan favorite going into the the Oscars Sunday night.
While the grim violence of "No Country for Old Men" is said to be the front-runner to take the Academy Awards' top honor, buzz is increasing about an upset win by the low-budget "Juno."
Made for just 2.5 million dollars, the film about a witty teenager coping with an unplanned pregnancy was the most successful of this year's Oscar contenders, earning more than 125 million dollars at the box-office.
"Juno" has nominations in four major categories -- best picture, best director (Jason Reitman), best actress (Ellen Page) and best original screenplay (Diablo Cody.)
I think "Juno" is bringing some excitement and bated breaths into the Oscar arena this year....usually comedies are not winners with academy voters....but you just never know. It'd be gratifying to see a well-deserved dark horse take home the top honors.
